"Intimacy is the capacity to be rather weird with someone - and finding that that’s ok with them."

Cowlitz Glacier, Rainier NP.
Walking around a glacier with huge crevasses by yourself at night is a really stupid idea, but I couldn’t go to sleep with such an amazing starry sky lingering above.

I took an ungodly amount of selfies in Rainier.

Been up for the past 26 hours and only had one real meal since. Just getting to the hotel back from Rainier. We started our summit push at 1am yesterday. Here’s a mountain man selfie, I got the gnarliest glacier sunglass tan.

Prayer flags moved to the rhythm of the wind and rain, the walls stamped with posters from previous Himalayan expeditions.
I am not in Nepal, in fact I’m still in America. I took the time to visit Wildberry in Ashford, WA. The restaurant offers Nepalese food to visitors passing through on their way to Rainier NP.
Highly suggest you to pay them a visit if you want to get a taste of the Himalayas in America.

From today.

Been seating in the rental car parking lot for over and hour arguing back and forth with a friend trying to find a hotel/hostel in downtown Seattle. Yup, that sure sounds like us.

"I love coffee. I sometimes get excited at night thinking of the coffee I’ll get to drink in the morning. Coffee is reason to wake up. There are other reasons, of course. But coffee is the incentive, at the very least."

"I don’t know when we’ll see each other again or what the world will be like when we do. We may both have seen many horrible things. But I will think of you every time I need to be reminded that there is beauty and goodness in the world."

Travis LemanskiLos Angeles Infamous

It is indescribable. You are hundred of miles away from home, huddled up with your best friends. You’ve just won a national event and feel as if for just a second, one single second, time stops and you are on top of the world.
And suddenly all of the wasted money, countless hours practicing and traveling seen to be justified. Because for that meager second you are living as loud as you can.
With World Cup right around the corner I cant help myself but wonder when I will be able to compete nationally again. I miss playing like never before.
